ROGUE 6L Sling

I've had the Rogue 6L for over 1.5 years now. I've regularly used it as my go-to bag when I'm out and about or working in the backcountry. I wanted something that could carry my Fujifilm XT-3 with a medium-sized lens or 2 small lenses. I can fit the 50-140mm f2.8 in snugly for reference.

This bag is smaller than it seems to be, and I think that mainly comes from the taper of the main compartment. The XT-3 is a relatively smaller camera and it still does not fit flush inside the bag due to the narrower bottom because of the taper. While I can fit what I want in it, I think design-wise this could be changed to keep the bag smaller, and a 6L but fit things better.

Now, the major design oversight... The padding is sufficient on the front and back of the bag but it is significantly thinner on the ends of the bag (the direction that the camera will sit) and the direction that the bag will want to rotate in when falling. I did not realize this thin padding until I unfortunately dropped my bag and camera causing the lens to camera interface to blow screws and break. The bag landed upright, landing on the screen of the camera body with the lens pointing up. The fall was just below waist height onto the street.

I think this was ultimately an unlucky break, although I was expecting more from this bag. Whether or not thicker padding in the sections would have saved the lens, I do not know, but I think that this should be seriously considered for your next bag update, as the sides,…
