We want everyone who visits the WANDRD website to feel welcome and find the experience rewarding.

What are we doing?

To help us make the WANDRD website a positive place for everyone, we've been using the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with disabilities, and user friendly for everyone.

The guidelines have three levels of accessibility (A, AA and AAA). We’ve chosen Level AA as the target for the WANDRD website.

This site has been built using code compliant with W3C standards for HTML and CSS. The site displays correctly in current browsers and using standards-compliant HTML/CSS code means any future browsers will also display it correctly.

Accessibility of WANDRD relies on the following technologies to work with the particular combination of web browsers and any assistive technologies or plugins installed on your computer:

  • HTML
  • WAI-ARIA
  • CSS
  • JavaScript

Compatibility with browsers and assistive technology

WANDRD is designed to be compatible with assistive technologies. These technologies are relied upon for conformance with the accessibility standards used.

WANDRD is not compatible with:

  • Browsers older than 3 major versions" or "Mobile operating systems older than 5 years.

How are we doing?

We're working hard to achieve our goal of Level AA accessibility, but we realize there are some areas that still need improving. The following information explains what we're doing to make that happen.

1.4.3: Contrast (Minimum)

We've identified the instances using the wrong colors (using normal text where it should have large text, for example) and are working on updating those component styles.

2.4.4: Link Purpose (In Context)

We are working on removing references to links that say "click here" or "here".

3.1.2: Language of Parts

Some product titles are stylized as part of the branding. We are working on adding screen reader-only text to allow them to be pronounced correctly.

Usability Updates

We’re testing with assistive technology and iterating on our designs to improve the overall experience for users who rely on them.

3rd Party Applications

We use Shopify apps in places, some of which have caused usability issues with assistive technology. We are working with developers to fix these issues, or looking into alternative options.

Testing & Training

WANDRD engages in {bi-annual} manual audits via an independent consultant to assess and improve accessibility. Our web content personnel undergo mandatory {annual} accessibility training.
