I'm giving these a 5 star review because they're well made for the intended purpose but listen here... I've had these on my pack for 6 months and taken dozens of trips in that time. I haven't found a need to use them a single time. Not once. They make it cumbersome to get into the outer zipper pocket, which is access daily for a few things I like to keep handy (mostly snacks and random small things). Will you need them? Maybe. I'm taking the off and moving on. YMMV
The straps are great, they hold on tight, and can hold whatever you need it to hold, wether it be clothes, a blanket, a tripod, etc. It also gives you something else to hold on to when needing to grab the bag, while also adding some more color to it. Which speaking of color, the color on all the products are great though I do wish the color on the straps were more green. It's very difficult to get the color green when taking photos of the straps as the straps always come out grey, and while in person they do have a green look, they are a tad bit different shade of green than the other products, and they look grey when looked at with light hitting it. Even though the color isn't what I hoped, they still look great on the bag, and are very versatile, you can do a lot with these straps, and they can be very useful, for hiking, road tripping, back packing etc. So as much as I would love for it to be more green it's still a 5 stars for me; 9/10 because of the color.
