To determine your FERNWEH frame size, measure the distance between your C7 Vertebrae (the highest point on your spine) to your iliac crest (top of your hip bone) along your spine. To determine your FERNWEH frame size, measure the distance between your C7 Vertebrae (the highest point on your spine) to your iliac crest (top of your hip bone) along your spine.

Waist Size: 

To determine your Waist Strap size measure around the top of your iliac crest (at the top of the hip bone. Measured about 2 inches below where you would measure your waist size).

Chest Size:

With the expansion system, the side pocket hugs neatly to the side of the bag when not in use.

Fernweh

Been using wandrd's fernweh for about a year now. I live in Asia and often fly with smaller airlines that don't give any checked bag allowances. So I always carry on - I pack the fernweh full of everything I need for trips anywhere from a week to a month long. It's a backpacking bag, and it does look technical, but somehow it doesn't give off the outdoorsy vibes that most backpacking bags do. IMO this makes it much more versatile, which I love.

Loveee this bag but..

Absolutely love this bag. The external pocket is super useful for stuffing windbreakers, etc. The handles are durable and having them all around the bag make it super easy to handle and carry like a duffel when needed.

Only issues I have are that there are so many dangling straps, so if using it as a carry-on, it can be annoying to stuff into the overhead.

The other thing is the waist buckle broke after less than a year of usage, which is pretty disappointing...

Great pack

Love this pack. It's sturdy and holds a lot.

The chest strap fell off before I even got to the airport, however. That piece needs to be thought.
