I prefer softside luggage. Hardside can be beautiful, ready for a luxury SUV photo shoot. But anyone can scratch and dent it, even if you never check it in for a flight. I also prefer 2-wheel rollers to 4-wheeled spinners. That really narrowed down my choices. After a good deal of research, it was down to Travelpro, a brand I have liked for 30 years, and WANDRD, a new company I've never heard of. I know I made the right choice with the TRANSIT by WANDRD. This roller is an inch or so thinner than a beaten-up Ricardo spinner it replaced. But the design and use of the TRANSIT follows a newer trend. It's meant to hold more and compress its cargo inside. The compression straps are not just thin straps, they are real panels. Fold your clothes, roll them into 'sausages' and start stacking. Stack more. More. Then compress. This thing holds a lot. And the 5 (yeah, 5!) pockets in the front opening are designed to be stuffed as well. This carries a lot. By reverting to the older "roller" design, it's more maneuverable than a spinner. The front foot is oversized, so this stands upright every time, no matter what's inside. And the wheels are like Mars rover wheels. Perfect for urban streets, and occasional gravel and dirt. It even includes 2 pairs of WANDRD's unique zipper locks. This is the perfect carry on. And it's my gateway to more WANDRD products.
