Fernweh Backpacking Bag S/M

Took this on a recent multi-stop agricultural work trip in the United States: 5 days, two flights, three rental cars, 5 states, 5 different hotels. Took this as my sole bag, carry-on style. Didn't have a problem carrying on with Southwest or Delta - for great in the overhead bins. Granted, I didn't have the bag stuffed to absolute capacity, and I removed the waist strap.

Loved that I could carry my laptop along with clothes and other necessities. When I first received the bag, it seemed like there was maybe too much going on - too many zippers, access points, etc. I actually ended up loving that I could access pretty much anything in the bag, anywhere, without removing anything else. Materials seem top notch. Looking forward to many more trips with this one.

Ich recently bought a WANDRD Fernweh to use as my primary travel companion. What I really like about it are the clever, customizable modular features, especially that I can remove the waist support. This was especially handy in my case, as my backpacking years are more or less behind me and I "only" use the Fernweh as a substitute for a large suitcase, because I still prefer to have my hands free during transits to and from destinations.

Also: It just looks plain awesome, I love the design. 🙂

I'm stunned every time I look at my new Fernweh backpack. After doing a LOT of research for a camera-oriented backpack that also carries a fair amount of personal stuff, I decided on this WANDRD pack and am really glad I did. The design and materials are top-notch, as well as the workmanship. As it says on one of the tags attached to the pack when you receive it, DAMN, this thing is comfortable!
